Lake Birrabeen

Lake Birrabeen
26 November 2009

The next stop on our journey up the coast of Australia was Frazer Island, the world's largest sand island. We rented out a 4x4 with some backpackers and drove through the dunes to Lake Birrabeen, a beautiful perched lake on the island. An impervious base of organic matter keeps the water from draining through the sand.

In other news I won the Open Colour section of the Drogheda Photographic Club Festival of Photography with one of my tango photos!

See the entire Australia series.
