I hope you all have a great Christmas. Thanks for visiting during the year and especially for taking the time to leave comments. I really appreciate it.

My original idea for a Christmas photo to post didn't quite work but it did evolve into what you see above. By shooting wide open at f1.4 I blurred the fairy lights to create bokeh which, with careful camera positioning, I used to create a halo on the angel. Because the fairy lights were much brighter than the rest of the scene I used two strobes to help light it. The first strobe was 90 degrees to camera left and lit the angel. The second strobe was used to help bring out some of the blurred greens of the Christmas tree.
