Into The Wild
3 June 2008

Inspired by Yann's recent posts on off-camera flash I decided to give it a go myself. I had a good idea of what I wanted the final image to look like but I didn't realise how difficult it would be to achieve. I used a remote shutter release to allow me to trigger the shutter while I blew on the dandelion head to disperse the seeds.
Time was my number one enemy. I was zoomed in so close that the seeds had flown out of the frame in a fraction of a second. Not only that but my supply of a whole lawn of dandelions began dwindling rapidly once the kids next door realised how much fun it was to kick them. In the end I decided that a composite image was on the cards so I photographed the seeds separately and added them in post.
