Fionn's View

Fionn's View
16 May 2007

Legend has it that Irish giant Fionn Mac Cumhail built the Giant's Causeway in order to fight his Scottish enemy Benandonner. Understandably exhausted, he fell asleep afterwards. Benandonner meanwhile came across from Scotland looking for him. Upon seeing the size of his nemesis, Fionn dressed up pretending to be his own baby. The (15 foot) "baby" bit Benandor and, terrified at how big Fionn must be if his baby was this big, Benandonner ran back to Scotland, destroying the Causeway in his wake. Fionn then picked up chunks of dirt and began throwing them after him, the largest hole becoming Lough Neagh, whose dirt landed in the sea to become The Isle of Man.
