I went down a more creative road with this shot. The inspiration is a character called Morrigan from the book The Alchemyst who summons an army of birds.
The original image was taken of Pine Island in Lough Inagh.

Excellent - the monochrome processing is really good, John @ 10 September 2007
I like your timing - in getting the bird's flight in the light!! Phil @ 11 September 2007
love it, Latchiko! there is something about the wipsy clouds in B&W that just gives
that ethereal feel which I you don't get in the original! good decision! I've been experimenting a lot lately too... it's tough to decide
which directiont to take an image, but if you don't try new things, what's the point, right? Betsy Barron @ 13 September 2007
Thanks everyone!
Betsy, yes it can be difficult to decide what direction to take the
image in. Lately I've been trying to remain as true to the original scene as possible, trying my best to capture it at the time of exposure rather
than relying on post processing jiggery pokery. I did enjoy combining a few exposures to create this image though and it's given me a few ideas
too so it was definetely worth trying something new! Kevoto @ 14 September 2007
wow the contrast and moodiness of this shot is so coptivation, I love the birdies :)
this is a special shot :) Lette @ 22 October 2007
