How are you taking IF shots with the digital ? What digital camera are you using ? thanks R

Hi Ronan. I'm using a Canon 400D camera with an infrared filter on the lens. The camera has a built in filter to prevent infrared light. The infrared filter I put on the lens only allows infrared light to pass through it which leads to a long exposure. You can also get the built in infrared filter removed from your camera to allow you to take only infrared photos, but with normal exposure times. I just went with the filter. I couldn't justify removing the pass from my shiny new camera! I'd love to have a secondary camera modified purely for infrared, but until I make my milllions I will put up with carrying a tripod and filter around.

What lens are you using ? My 350D kit lens shows a hot-spot when I use an IR filter (so I use an old Sigma lens instead). Enjoy your holiday (take plenty of shots!)

Sorry Kevin, for attaching this msg to this picture but it is the quickest way. I saw your picture on the tv the other evening and very well it looked too. The weather forecaster was most obliging in wearing yellow that evening - showed off the blues in your photo to great effect.

John - I use the 17-85mm lens which luckily doesn't have a hot spot as it is the only lens I have! Phil - Thanks! She was wearing yellow when I saw it as well. The photo varied depending on the tv (some of the lighthouse got chopped off on ours!) but it was still great to see it on the big screen!
